1. Who we are

[PROGRAM NAME] ("we," "us") is an independent online AI research mentorship program operated by Keren Fuentes in New York, NY. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of this website and your participation in any program cohort.

[PROGRAM NAME] is not affiliated with or endorsed by New York University or any other university or employer.

2. Our services

We offer 12-week online research programs in which students work in teams (Team track) or individually (1:1 track) on original AI research, guided by a mentor. Programs include live online sessions, office hours, code and writing feedback, and a cloud compute budget.

We may change session times, curriculum details or mentors when needed, and will tell enrolled families in advance.

3. Eligibility and users under 18

You must be at least 14 years old to apply or enroll. We do not knowingly accept applicants or collect personal information from anyone under 13.

If a participant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Parent Consent on the participant's behalf, and is responsible for all fees. By enrolling a minor, the parent or guardian confirms they have the authority to do so.

4. Applications and admission

Submitting an application does not guarantee admission. We review applications on a rolling basis and may decline any application. You agree that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

5. Fees and payment

6. Refund policy

7. Code of conduct

Participants must treat mentors and peers with respect, contribute fairly to their team, and act with academic integrity. Prohibited conduct includes harassment, discrimination, plagiarism, fabricating results, sharing others' work without credit, and misusing program compute (for example, mining cryptocurrency or running unrelated workloads).

We may warn, suspend or remove a participant who violates this code. Removal for misconduct is not eligible for a refund.

8. Communication and safeguarding

All program communication happens through program channels: group video sessions, the program Slack (or similar) workspace, and email. Mentors do not communicate privately with minors outside these channels, and parents of minors are copied on enrollment and key program emails. See the Parent Consent page for details.

9. Research work, authorship and intellectual property

You keep ownership of the research, code and writing you create in the program. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use the title, abstract and a short description of your project, and your name if you opt in, to describe the program, for example on this website.

Paper authorship follows standard research norms: students who make substantial contributions are listed as authors, and the mentor may be listed as a co-author. Each team agrees on author order and on whether to release code publicly.

Program materials we provide (lectures, slides, templates, starter code) remain ours and are for your personal educational use.

10. Recording

Group sessions may be recorded so participants can review them. Recordings are shared only with members of the same cohort and are deleted within 90 days after the cohort ends. We will tell participants at the start of any session that is being recorded.

11. No guarantee of outcomes

We help every team prepare a submission-ready paper and submit it to a target venue, but we cannot guarantee acceptance at any conference, journal or workshop, or any admissions, scholarship or employment outcome.

12. Compute and third-party services

We provide cloud compute up to a per-team budget set by the program. We use third-party services (such as Stripe, Calendly, Google Meet, cloud GPU providers and collaboration tools) that have their own terms. We are not responsible for outages or changes to those services.

13. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The program and website are provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the program is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Term, changes and termination

We may update these Terms. The version in effect when you enroll applies to that cohort, and material changes will be emailed to enrolled families. We may suspend or end access to the website or program for violations of these Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Before taking formal action, both sides agree to try to resolve any dispute informally by email for at least 30 days. Any remaining dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.

16. Electronic acceptance

By checking the agreement box on the application form or at checkout, you agree to these Terms electronically, with the same effect as a signature.
